We all remember the famous words "Danger, Will Robinson" uttered by the B9 robot from the sixties T.V. series.

Below is the Robot used in the movie. Why these big name hollywood moguls have to mess with a good thing I'll never know. But at least this time it made for a nice kit.

This kit was produced by AMT/Ertle. They did a very nice job on it. There is plenty of detail and the parts fit together quit well.
They are out of production now , but are still easy to find and very reasonable. I got mine from ebay for $1.95 plus $4.00 shipping.

Frontal detail

AS you can see I decided to not go with the same colors as the movie.

To me, robots just shouldn't be painted a pretty blue. They should look like the machinery they are.

You can see some of the detail in this close up of what I would call the head section.

Electric panal

This panel, between the treads shows more detail and is easy to see fron any angle.

I painted it flat black and then dry brushed the circuitry with silver and the wiring cables with copper.

The Back

There was lots of nice detail that was going to be covered by the front and back body plating. The instructions said to paint it all silver.

Looking at this great inner workings I thought, what a waste. So I desided that I would do something about it.

I couldn't do much about the front without ruining the over all look of the kit, besides the head and neck section had some detail of its own.

But the Back... that was a different story.
There were two molded panels on either side of the back plate. I desided to cut these out and make them into viewing panels.

So I cut them out with my exacto knife and glued some clear styrene into them, exposing the inner detail.

I know the cuts don't look to smoothed out in these pics. I got in a hurry (Other kits were screaming for attension). But I plan on opening This kit back up, to add some wiring detail, in the future and I'll fix it then. I'll also be adding some wire to the panel between the treads, to the upright tread struts and the arm joints.

All in all this was a lot of fun to build and paint. I highly reccommend this kit. JUst remember there is a lot of parts that need to be painted before assembly.
